TRIP IN DETAILS

After breakfast, your guide will meet and take you on 2,5 hours journey to Hoa Binh. Your first visit will be the Muong Cultural Space to have an overview of Muong people and its culture. Continue driving to stunning valley of Mai Chau for lunch at a stilt-house, followed by a stroll around interesting surroundings and ethnic minority tribes of Pom Coong village. Then a short drive will take you to a remote village of the valley for approximately 3- hour trek passing by authentic villages and lush paddy fields. Spend the night in a Thai family.

This morning will devote to more trekking which takes you mainly downhill, firstly with a gentle descent on a wide track, then turns into a narrow path winding through hamlets, cultivated fields where you enjoy beautiful views over the valley below. The trek involves several stream crossings, steep descents and balancing between rice paddies. There are lovely views of karts rock formations at a distance. After a home lunch at a local family in a nearby village, you’ll be picked up to the starting point of the trail leading to Pu Luong Nature Reserve where you will commence a 3-hour trek to Hang village. The route takes in peaceful landscape of the Nature Reserve, quaint stilt houses, and rice paddy fields. You will cross a small stream which later can be seen snaking its way at the bottom of the valleys. Enjoy a delicious home dinner with the local family of White Thai minority where you stay the night.

Today you might consider getting up early to get a true feeling of a remote village life and wander around to witness daily activities of the locals such as feeding the cattle and poultry, watering and harvesting vegetable in their gardens. After breakfast, start the day with trekking along a small hilly path all the way to Eo Ken village, observing and interacting in the everyday life that goes on around you, soaking up the fresh air and slow pace of this picturesque valley. The trek involves stream crossing, steep ascent beautiful mountain views. After lunch at another local family, you’ll be picked up for the return journey to Hanoi, arriving in the late afternoon.

2-Week Itinerary Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam

A wonderful, well organized holiday

I was tasked by friends to organize a holiday in the Far East. I was put in touch with Tuan at Absolute Asia Travel and from that time on had the concern and hassle taken off my shoulders. From giving him an idea of what we wanted to see and do he organized our trip to be exactly what we desired. We did make some small changes to the itinerary and these were catered for without any problem.

5 friends from Australia met my wife and I in Bangkok and we flew into Luang Prabang to start our 15 day tour of Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia. The hotels booked for us throughout were of high standard with excellent, friendly service. The flights, the mini-bus trips, the boat rides, were always organized and there on time.

The guides we had were all very knowlegable, with good English and were pleasant and always ready to put themselves out to suit our wishes.
We visited Hanoi, Halong Bay (a 2 day trip), Sa Pa(a short trek through the hills), Saigon (incl. Cu Chi tunnels), Mekong Delta and Siam Reap (the Angkor complex and Tonie Sap lake).

We parted back in Bangkok with all of us raving about the holiday.
